French Onion Meatball Casserole Recipe

  • ½ lb cooked Penne or Rotini Pasta
  • Meatballs
  • ¾ lb Grassy Cow cheese curd
  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbs Butter
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • ¼ cup Marsala or dry Red Wine
  • Black Pepper to taste

Prepare Pan:

Spray Pam or oil in a 2 Qt glass baking dish


Mix 1lb ground beef, 1 egg, and ½ cup bread crumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Form 1” meatballs and place on baking dish in 350 degree oven for approx 30 minutes.

Cook Onions:

In a fry pan, sauté onions and butter until onions are opaque. Add wine and beef broth, add black pepper and simmer until some of liquid is reduced. Set aside.

Assemble Casserole:

Place the pasta in bottom of baking dish, add the meatballs. Pour the onions and broth over the meatballs. Top with Grassy Cow cheese curd.


In a 350 degree oven until cheese is melted and golden brown.
